Albert Clay was the youngest of Pearlie Mae Edwards’ three boys. As the baby, some would say he was her favorite. He was born on November 20, 1965 to the late Pearlie Mae Edwards and Milton Parks in McRae, Georgia. McRae was a place Albert loved and never wanted to leave. In February 2009, he was united in marriage to Vanessa Jackson.
On Saturday, December 21, 2024, Albert’s big heart let him down. We say big heart because, regardless of who or what kind of help someone might need, if Albert could help, he would do it. Albert was one of those people who knew a little bit about a lot of things and could do a lot of things well. You could call on Albert for help anytime, no matter the hour and he would be on his way to try and help you. He was also known as a grill master. He loved grilling. He will also be remembered for someone who liked to laugh and have fun. Albert will be fondly remembered by all the friends he made over the years.
Albert was a member of Stewart Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where he often served as an Usher.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife Vanessa Clay, four children: Albert Clay, Jr of McRae, Georgia; Michelle Barnes (Clay) of McRae, Georgia; Taniyah Clay of Atlanta, Georgia; Whitlee Clay, of Atlanta, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; two brothers; Adrain (Pam) Clay of Lorton Virginia; Ernest (Myra) Clay of Abbeville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
