Algerrene was so loved by so many. To know her was to love her and to love her was an honor. To know her was no ordinary experience; it was extraordinary joy. On June 10, 1948, the late James Calvin Lampkin and Addie Lee Lampkin gave birth to their third of seven children, of which Algerrene was the oldest daughter. Algerrene spent her childhood years on the family home in Helena, GA and spent many of her early adult years on Jackson Lane in McRae, GA and later moved to Brunswick, GA with her only son and daughter-in-law. From the hallways of Central High school to the workforce of Roydon Wear and Pilgrim Pride, Algerrene cultivated many lifelong relationships. Algerrene was an impressive employee and was an asset to her employers and to the community. Even after retirement, Algerrene continued to reflect a strong work ethic.
As a young girl, Algerrene joined Scotland SandHill Baptist Church and made friends with her Savior, Jesus Christ. With her gentle spirit, she pressed forward and defeated many challenges and celebrated even more victories among which was the birth of her beloved and only son, Michael Woodard. Michael truly was the SONshine of Algerrene’s world and their connection was truly the hallmark of her life. Algerrene enjoyed dressing up, spending Saturdays at yard sales from county to county with her family members. She was the rock of her family and served as a matriarch to her siblings and nieces and nephews. Adding light, love, and legacy to her life is the undeniable bond she had with her daughter-in-law, Lisa, and her two grandchildren, Michael Woodard, Jr. and Makiyah Woodard, and her great grandson, Nevin Woodard.
After an extended illness, Algerrene, exchanged mortality for immortality and her soul has a new heavenly home as she gained her wings on October 24, 2023. She has indeed received eternal healing and though she will forever be missed, our confidence is in knowing that she will everlastingly experience the glory of our Lord! Preceding her in death but greeting her in heaven are a host of angelic family members, notably, her parents, James and Addie Lampkin, her brothers, Gene and James Jr, and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Charlene, and Joyce. We are forever changed because Algerrene loved us, and we will always love her. We honor God for her life and her love.
Leaving to cherish her memory and to honor her legacy of life, love, and laughter is her adored son, Michael (Victoria Verlisa) Woodard of Brunswick, GA ; Well-Loved Grandchildren, Michael Woodard, Jr of Baumholder, Germany and Makiyah Woodard of Brunswick, GA,; beloved Great-Grandson, Nevin Woodard; three brothers, Wilbert (Lois) Lampkin, Freddie Lampkin, Isaac Lampkin, one special sister and best friend, Dorothy Gail Lampkin, who nurtured and provided extra special care to Algerrene during the challenging medical days of Algerrene’s life. Dorothy Gail truly has been a SuperHero Sister. Additionally, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and church members, co-workers, neighbors, medical staff, very loving friends, community liaisons, and divinely assigned angels on Algerrene’s walk of life complete the village of those who love and will miss the beautiful and kind, Algerrene Lampkin.
