Charlie Swain Obituary

Charlie James Swain was born October 26, 1942 to the late Charlie Van Swain and Mattie Lee Warren Swain in Telfair County.  Charlie was educated in the Telfair County Public School System and attended Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Georgia. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a supervisor.

CJ was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Van Swain; four brothers, Henry, Harvey, Eddie and Joseph; and three sisters, Mary Alice, Iula and Shirley.

On August 1, 1978, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Marian Gibson. He leaves to cherish his memories a biological son, Lebron DeMoore Swain; nine stepchildren, Carol Reynolds, Gwen Domineck, Wayne Davis, Margaret Gibson, Marian Sims, Kenneth Bass, Shirley Jackson (deceased), Freddie Davis and Ronnie Davis; two sisters, Carrie Collins and Grace Wilcox; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nephews; nieces; other relatives; friends; as well as his special friend, Diane Stroud.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to his cousin and caretaker Evoyn Nesbit and his sister Grace Wilcox. He loved you both for all the love you showered on him.  May God forever bless you!
