Eason Parker, Sr. was born to the late Mr. Alex Parker and Sally Moore Parker on September 10, 1937 in Telfair County, Georgia. He was the last of the 17 kids from Alex Parker.
At an early age, he attended school in Scotland, GA under the supervision of Rudy Brown and Claire McRae. His family moved on the Crowder Place; that is when he started school in Lumber City. He attended there until the 10th grade. He dropped out of school to help his father attend to the farm.
Later in life, he moved to Orlando, FL for a couple of years before moving back to GA. He then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio for a few months before moving back home. He then found work at the Walker Pipe Company in Scotland, GA. In 1959, he was drafted into the Army where he served 2 ½ years. After leaving the Army, he returned home before moving to Ft. Myers, FL with his family. He found work at Florida Light and Gulf American Land Corporation. He had to return home when his father became ill. He then found work at Hazlehurst Mills where he stayed until he retired in 2003.
He was a faithful member at the C.M.E. Methodist Church in Towns, GA. He was also set aside for a Deacon at Free Run Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, all of his siblings and his daughter, Veronica Kay Parker Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories to five daughters, Debra (Billy) Davis, Gwendolyn Parker, Kimberly Parker, Della “Dee Dee” Parker and Latasha Parker; 2 sons, Eason Parker, Jr. and Kelvin Parker; 21 grandkids, 45 great grandkids and 6 great great grandkids; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
