Johnny Johnson, Sr. was born February 10, 1948, in Wheeler
County to the late Nellie Lumpkins. His father was the late
Jerome “Buck” Wooten. He was raised by his grandparents, the
late Jessie and Winnie Johnson.
Early in life, he joined Mt. Zion CME Church, Towns, GA,
which is now Centennial Zion CME Church, Scotland, GA. He
departed this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Meadow
Health Hospital, Vidalia, GA.
Johnnie attended school in Wheeler County, Alamo, GA. He
loved dirt track racing, fast cars, riding horses, hunting, fishing,
farming, and socializing with his many friends. Johnny was a
friend to many.
Preceding him in death are his parents, grandparents, son
Termayne “TJ” Johnson; brothers: Bernard, Bobby Wooten,
Jerome Wooten, Jr., Ricky Griffin, Alvin Lamar Lumpkins, and
Chester Johnson. Sisters: Dorothy “Dot” Clark and Latie Mae
King.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving wife for
50 years, Pearlie Beatrice Parker Johnson; five sons: Patrick
Leon Parker, Anthony (Jacquelyn) Clark, Runzy Johnson,
Derrick (Kerri) Johnson, and Johnny Johnson, Jr.; a daughter,
Kenyetta (Michael) Spencer and a special loving granddaughter,
Destiny Johnson; a grandson he raised, Kaland “Spook” Parker;
16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; sisters: Glady
Bradford, Geraldine Cray, Nina Brantley, Gail Clark, Glenda
Wooten, Rena Wooten, Debra Williams, Connie Johnson, and
Clara Johnson Ferguson; brothers: Melvin (Annette) Johnson,
Archie Johnson, Charles Edward Johnson, Leonard Griffin, and
Lewis Johnson; sisters-in-law, Apostle Sallie (Elder Joseph)
Kirkland and Annette Johnson; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces,
nephews, and sorrowful friends.
