Levie Troupe was the oldest of 13 children born to John Frank Troupe and Esther B. Wright Troupe in Achord, GA. He was preceded in homegoing by his parents and brother, John B. Troupe; sisters, Geraldine Troupe, Alice Troupe Crofton and Pamela Troupe Henton.
At an early age, he joined Centilla Baptist Church. Levie loved music. He taught himself to play lead guitar and later switched to bass. He sang in the family gospel group, “The Starlight Gospel Singers”.
Levie loved gardening. He would plant a big garden every year until a few years ago, it became too much for him. He would always make sure family and neighbors and friends would get greens and vegetables he had grown each year. He truly loved his family and said he prayed for them everyday. We will truly miss our husband, father, brother and uncle.
He was the father of 5 children, Levie Troupe, Jr., deceased, Teresa, Linda, Vincent and Pernell Robert Troupe, deceased.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Troupe of Douglas; step daughter, Amy Cunningham (Weyman) of Fitzgerald, GA; five sisters and three brothers, Jeffery Troupe, Michael Troupe–Djdout of Africa, Patrick Troupe (Donna) of Vancouver, Canada, Catherine Troupe Dixon of Goose Creek, SC, Mary Troupe Moss (John) of Jacksonville, FL, Mildred Troupe Tracy of Sandford, FL, Lelia Faye Troupe Conteh (Francis) of Sacramento, FL and Diane Troupe of Douglas, GA; a special niece, Cindy Brockington of Douglas who took Levie to the doctor and administered his medicines and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
