Mary Helen McDuffie-Riley was born into a loving family, April 22, 1940, in Telfair County to the parentage of the late Roosevelt McDuffie and the late Alice Herring-McDuffie. She was the eighth of ten children.
God saw that it was time to take Helen to her Heavenly home, November 21, 2020, to be with her parents, her son, Kevin Osby; her brothers, Theodore, J.T., and Robert; sisters, Juanita, Luvenia, Ruby, Roberta, Louise and Dorothy.
She was a member of Rockwell CME Church. She married John Mitchell Riley, Sr., in May 1970. Helen had various occupations—housekeeping, seamstress at Roydon Wear; however, her most favorite employment was as a bus driver for Dodge County School System.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory her husband—John Mitchell Riley, Sr.; one daughter, Glenda Mincey (Cordele Sr.); five sons, Calvin Ross, Reggie Ross, Gregory Ross, John Mitchell Riley, Jr. (Belinda) and Marcus Riley (Shavon); step children, Gwen Hall, Michael Riley and Lamar Riley; one sister, Marian Wooten; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
