Wilbert "Dumas" King

Mr. Wilbert King, age 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center Hospice in Dublin, Georgia.  He was born October 10, 1949 in Telfair County, McRae, Georgia to the parents of the late Joe Nathan and Ruby King. 

Mr. King attended Central High School and later joined the Army in 1974.  He was employed at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center as a Nutrition Food Service Worker following 13 years of retirement.

Later after completing the Army, Mr. King resided back to McRae, Georgia in 1990.  He married Sylvia King on July 18, 1992 in Hazlehurst, Georgia.  Mr. Wilbert King worked as an engineer, brick mason and carpenter and received a black belt in Martial Arts while he served in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Joe King and Samuel King,

Mr. King leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sylvia King of 31 years; one daughter, Regina King of Fort Wayne, Indiana and raised two daughters, Tameka Holiday of Houston, Texas and LaToya (Scottie) Roach of Vidalia, Georgia; two sons, Edward (Kim) Wooten and Hershell (Barsha) Stuckey, a special daughter-in-law of McRae, Georgia, JaCorie, a special grandson (Sydney) Stuckey of Soperton, Georgia and a special granddaughter, Angela Carr of Dexter, Georgia; three sisters, Wylene Clemons, Ruby (Bobby) Robinson, both of McRae, Georgia and Helen Stewart of Atlanta, Georgia and brother, Edward King of McRae, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Vasco (Phyllis) Wooten of Hazlehurst, Georgia; Larry (Eva) Wooten of Hinesville, Georgia, Harold Lewis and Samuel Wooten of McRae, Georgia;  a special friend, Theopolis Reese and Bessie Doberson.  He also leaves to cherish a special cousin, Shirley McMillan of McRae. Georgia; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and loving friends.
