Wilton Moore, born on September 16, 1955, in McRae, Ga. was sent to his eternal home on May 11,
2026. Wilton was the son of the late Mrs. Letha Mae Sampson and the late Mr. Wilbert Moore. He was
nurtured and raised by the late Mr. Robert Sampson.
Wilton was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Sampson and Dorothy Clark; one grandchild, Kyler
Moore.
At an early age, Wilton joined Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He found great joy in the
fellowship of his Masonic Lodge, where he was known as a loyal 'Brother' to many. Wilt, as he was
affectionately known, was an exceptionally skilled fisherman. He possessed a rare and natural talent for
the water; whether casting into a still glass lake or wading through the rushing waters of a stream, he
always seemed to know exactly where the fish were biting. Wilt was a dedicated employee of Hazlehurst
Mills, where he served as a foreman for over 30+ years before his retirement. While he may have
officially retired, he never truly stopped working. He merely promoted himself to lawncare, masterfully
spending his golden years ensuring every blade of grass was exactly where it should be. To his children,
he was the ultimate handyman—the first call for anything that needed fixing. Whether he was under the
sink tackling a busted pipe or in the driveway replacing worn-out brake pads, there was no problem he
could not solve with his hands and his heart.
His memory lives on with his daughter & granddaughter, Macy L. Moore & Chloe Rouse; Son &
grandsons, Wilton Demonta Moore and Taylen & Jaylen Moore; two sisters, Janetta Williams (Nathan) & Clara
Ferguson; A special sister, Betty Haney; a brother, Bobby McRae; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
